BASE DEVELOPMENT
Since the team was founded back in 1984, we have never had a permanent home to call our own.
In the early days, equipment was stored in team members garages and sheds. With the support of An Garda Siochana, we then graduated to a shed at the back of Roundwood Garda Station.
In 2014 we rented our Depot, also in Roundwood, and this allowed us to expand our storage and have a place for meetings and training. However, this was always a temporary solution, and in 2024 we had to move out due to it being sold by the owner.
During that time, we have always had the ambition to build our own base, and had been fund-raising and applying for grants in order to progress this.
Finally this year, we have enough funds available to begin the build in Annacarter, just outside Roundwood.
However, we still have a significant shortfall of funds to complete the base to the spec we requires, which is why your support for Run The Line 2025 is so important in bringing this dream to reality
